Terms of service
Terms of Service
The rules for using revoltlocal.com and the Revolt Local app, and for connecting your accounts to it.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Revolt Local: revoltlocal.com and its signup pages, the customer app, the destination-partner dashboard, and the websites we build and host for businesses. Revolt Local is operated by Sorenson Advertising, LLC, a Utah limited liability company ("Revolt Local," "we," "us").
By using Revolt Local, or by connecting an account to it, you agree to these Terms. If you use it for a business, you agree for that business and confirm you're authorized to.
1Your agreement with us
If your business signed our Master Services Agreement at signup, that agreement governs the services we provide, what they cost and how either of us can end them. If these Terms conflict with your Master Services Agreement, the Master Services Agreement controls. These Terms cover your use of the website and app themselves.
Our Privacy Policy (revoltlocal.com/privacy), Acceptable Use Policy and "How we use AI" disclosure (both at revoltlocal.com/legal) are part of these Terms.
2Who can use Revolt Local
Revolt Local is for businesses in the United States. You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. Customer accounts are created at signup. Accounts for destination partners and for our team are created by us.
3Your account
You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Don't forward a sign-in link or share your access. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, so keep your email account secure.
You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us right away at hello@revoltlocal.com.
4Connecting your accounts
To deliver our services, you give us access to accounts such as your Google Business Profile, Google Ads, Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, TikTok account and LinkedIn Page. You do this either by adding us as a manager or partner on the platform, or by approving Revolt Local on the platform's own authorization screen.
When you connect an account, you confirm that:
- you own it, or its owner has authorized you to connect it and grant the access requested
- you're allowing us to act on it for you as your agreement describes, including publishing approved content, replying to reviews and comments, and managing the ad campaigns you approve
- connecting it doesn't break any agreement you have with the platform or anyone else
Your accounts stay yours. We hold manager, partner or delegated access, never ownership. You can remove our access at any time, in the app or in the platform's own settings, though doing so may stop us delivering the parts of the services that depend on it. What happens to information from connected accounts is set out in our Privacy Policy.
5Platform rules
Revolt Local works through Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and other platforms, and each platform's own terms and policies apply to your account on it. Platforms can change their rules, limit what apps can do, or suspend accounts at any time. We aren't responsible for their decisions. When a platform blocks something we would normally do, we'll do it by hand where we can, or tell you what's affected.
6Your content
You keep ownership of your business information, photos, logos, brand files and accounts. You give us permission to store, adapt and publish those materials to the accounts and websites we manage for you, only to deliver our services. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload.
Ownership of the content we create for you is set out in your Master Services Agreement.
7What we publish for you
We publish content based on the facts you give us, so keep them accurate and tell us when something changes. A person on our team reviews everything before it's published. Some content needs your approval first, and we never treat silence as approval for those items.
8AI
We use AI tools to prepare first drafts. AI output can be wrong, which is why a person reviews and edits every draft before it's published. Our "How we use AI" disclosure sets out what we never do with AI.
9Acceptable use
Don't use Revolt Local to:
- publish anything unlawful, false, misleading or defamatory, or anything that infringes someone else's rights
- post fake reviews or testimonials, or ask only happy customers for reviews
- send email or text messages to people who haven't agreed to hear from you
- act on an account you aren't authorized to use
- break a platform's rules
- try to reach another business's data, probe or disrupt our systems, or get around any access control
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service
Our Acceptable Use Policy has more detail. We may hold back content or pause access to stop a violation.
10Destination partners
If you use Revolt Local as a destination partner, you see aggregate information about participation in your destination and the list of participating businesses that haven't opted out. Use it only to support your destination's businesses. Don't try to see any business's fees, contract, reports, reviews or customers.
11Websites we host
We build and host websites for businesses on Revolt Local. If you're visiting one, the business is responsible for its information, offers and bookings. When you book or buy, you're dealing with the business directly, often through a booking provider it chose, and we aren't a party to that transaction.
12Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Revolt Local available, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, especially where it depends on other platforms. We may change or improve features. Where a change materially reduces the services in your agreement, your agreement's terms apply.
13Disclaimers
Except as your Master Services Agreement says, Revolt Local is provided "as is" and "as available," and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee search rankings, traffic, reviews, bookings, sales or any other result.
14Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability relating to Revolt Local is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100 if you haven't paid us anything. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
15Suspension and ending
We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these Terms, or when a customer's agreement ends. How a customer's agreement ends, and what happens to its accounts and materials, is set out in the Master Services Agreement.
You can stop using Revolt Local and remove our access to your accounts at any time. Sections 6, 13, 14 and 16 continue to apply after access ends.
16Governing law
Utah law governs these Terms. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts in Utah County, Utah, except that either of us may use small-claims court.
17Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll publish the new version at revoltlocal.com/terms and change the date at the top, and we'll tell customers directly about material changes. Using Revolt Local after a change takes effect means you accept it.
