Acceptable use
The few rules that keep your marketing honest and above-board, including our no-review-gating policy.
This policy is part of your Master Services Agreement with Revolt Local. These rules protect your business, your customers and the other businesses we serve.
When we run a review campaign, every customer in the campaign gets the same invitation to leave a review, whether we expect them to be happy or not. We never choose who to ask based on how we think they feel. Filtering requests to collect only positive reviews (called "review gating") breaks Google's rules and FTC guidance.
When you upload a photo, logo, font or other file, you confirm that you own it or are licensed to use it for marketing. We can't publish material you don't have rights to. If the rights to an item are unclear, we'll hold it until they're sorted out.
We don't invent quotes, fake first-hand experiences, or put words in a named person's mouth. Everything we write is based on the real facts of your business, so please don't ask us to claim anything that isn't true. That includes awards, certifications, prices, availability, and health or safety claims.
Any email list you give us must contain only people who agreed to hear from your business. We don't send to purchased or rented lists. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe, and we honor it. We may pause sending to any list that produces high bounce or complaint rates.
Don't share your Revolt Local login. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account.
Use the services only for lawful marketing of your own business. Don't use them to promote illegal goods or services, to harass or discriminate, or to mislead your customers.
We may hold or remove the affected content, and we'll talk to you first whenever we can. Serious or repeated violations may lead to suspension or termination under your agreement.
